(Photos courtesy of St.Paul's church)
If you have a pet, large or small, you might want to bring them by St. Paul's Church this Sunday, October 6th, 2013 for the Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals.
From St Paul's:
The St. Francis Blessing of the Animals is a beloved tradition at St. Paul’s. It is a day that we can share God’s grace with the creatures which have become family and friends to many of us.
On Sunday October 6, 2013 at 4 pm., St. Paul's Episcopal Church & Sacred Hearts- St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church will be holding the annual Blessing of the Animals in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The blessing will take place at the front entrance of St. Paul’s on Clinton Street. It will be closed off to traffic during the ceremony to insure safety for all. After the blessing there will be treats for the animals in our Parish Hall. All in the community are invited to bring any and all animal members of their family to be blessed.
St. Paul's Church is located at 198 Carroll Street at the corner of Clinton Street.

Cohen and Marisa Michelson, and starring Jessica Grové in the title role of Tamar and the singers of Choral Chameleon as the River. This compelling work, an adult fable, follows young Tamar on her quest for peace in times of war, as she journeys to the River's source to hear the voice of God. The project will fuse the best of the choral and theatrical worlds to create a new hybrid form of immersive, explosive, visually spectacular, and emotional live storytelling. Co-Produced with NEW YORK THEATRE BARN
Choral Chameleon will then wade deep with the choral water music of Palestrina, Conrad Susa, Simon and Garfunkel and more. Listen to a preview of the concert selections here. And hear composer Conrad Susa talk about his early career and the two pieces included on this concert.
