It is important to note that the next high tide will hit at 8 PM tonight and Hurricane Sandy is still over 200 miles offshore. The storm is also supposed to hit this area during a full moon.

She said she ran into a policeman from the 76th Precinct who said that the water is expected to cross
Bond Street later tonight.

Not much homeowners can do. Sand bands are a bit useless. Look at the preparations taken at the Green building at the corner of Union Street and Bond Street.
